SAN ANTONIO – Aug. 5, 2020 – California medical device start-up company, JustAir, Inc. announced plans to locate its headquarters and manufacturing operations in San Antonio. JustAir is a spinout company from Theranova Medical Device Innovations, a medical device incubator in San Francisco, founded in 2006 by Dr. Dan Burnett, who serves as president and CEO. Theranova has raised over $250 million for 14 Theranova medical device companies that collectively have been issued 57 patents worldwide, with an additional 180 pending.
San Antonio-based investors were instrumental in helping JustAir raise start-up capital, increasing the odds of selecting the city for the company’s headquarters.
“We‘ve worked with Dr. Burnett over the years to get him to locate some of his companies in San Antonio,” said Ed Davis of DavisDuncan LLC., an economic development consulting firm focused on assisting clients looking to locate or expand business operations in the city. “We anticipate JustAir being the first of many more innovative Theranova spinout medical device companies that will choose to locate in San Antonio.”
“We’re excited to be locating JustAir in San Antonio. We believe the city’s business environment and available workforce will allow us to quickly ramp up manufacturing operations and become profitable in a matter of months,” said Burnett.
JustAir plans to create at least 20 jobs over the first two years.
In the coming weeks, JustAir expects to launch its first products designed to serve the professional health care market and other frontline workers.
